Clients in an Active Directory need to point to AD DNS servers. Pointing the clients to third-party DNS can cause problems connecting to AD, Group Policy problems, and a number of other issues.
Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2
- From the Start menu, select Administrative Tools, then select DNS.
- Choose the server you want to edit, then double click Forwarders.
- Click the edit button.
- Enter Kibosh Cloud DNS servers.
- Uncheck ‘Use root hints if no forwarders are available‘
- Right click on Cached Lookups and then Clear Cache.
NOTE: If you leave If you leave ‘Use root hints…’ checked, your DNS server may consult with the root hints servers to resolve a DNS entry and could bypass Kibosh Cloud.
